Summary

For those that have been around, the play is the exactly the same as last year’s Event and still includes a Daily Special switch, a Calendar, some Reindeer (now called the Elves’ Workshop) for additional prizes that will cost ya some Diamonds, as well as a set of “Winter Prizes” that can only be acquired with real money …

In this Event, you will be unwrapping Presents to find what glorious rewards await inside! This is done by collecting Stars, the Event currency, which will then lead to the Event premium currency – Matchbooks and Calendar Keys. Grand Prizes are received for every 20 Houses illuminated with the Matchbooks and extra Prizes are provided by the Calendar Keys, the Elves’ Workshop or Winter Prizes.

The Grand Prize is the Chocolatery which at Level 11 can be converted to Ketebo Candy or Ted’s Choc. This GP provides both Att-Att and Att-Def boosts but has a greater boost depending on which is installed.

In SAJM, The Ketebo is under an Ancient Obelisk for Att-Def efficiency (1.41), the same as a Fiore Village but a smidge better than a Hero’s Tavern or Golden Orrery (1.35). Conversely, the Ted’s Choco Att-Att efficiency (1.16) puts it just under the Stage of Ages (1.18), equivalent to a Botanical Rotunda, and just over the Tarot Card Caravan (1.10).

Prizes

If a Present is not the Daily Special or a Special award, it will be filled with the usual regular prizes consisting of Blueprints, Military Units, Decorations, Potions, Buildings, SoK/WW fragments and a small amount of FP, Goods and Medals.

*** Event Main Building (Grand Prize) ***

• Chocolatery: A 4 x 6 building that provides for a various amount of Population, Happiness, Coin, Goods and FP, Nutcracker Guardhouse Fragments, Att-Att and Att-Def boosts. The last and final upgrade (Level 11) one of two options (Ketebo Candy or Ted’s Choc) will need to be selected that will add slightly modify the existing features and add either more Att-Att or Att-Def to your City.

*** Other Notable Buildings (from Daily Special) ***

• Winter Canal: A 6 x 4 building that provides for a various amount of Population, Happiness, Coin, Goods, Supplies, Medals, FP and Combat Boosts tiered to the buildings Level and Age. It is upgradeable to Level 10 and a Canal type (Festive or Jolie) will need to be selected when applying the last upgrade that will add unique features to the building (including Att-Att/Att-Def or Def-Att/Def-Def boosts).
• Sleigh Builder: A 2x3 building that has 6 different production options and notably used as a previous-Age Goods building given its production output and small footprint as well as used for Daily Challenges and Event Quests as it has different production options.
• Check the potential list of Daily Specials for other buildings that are obtainable in this event (e.g., a Winter Train Select Kit or Parlor Car) or hope you get lucky when switching the Daily Special (e.g., Olympic Treasury Selection Kit).

Grand Prize Upgrading

The Chocolatery is upgradable to Level 11. You will receive a Level 1 upon completing the first 5 Quests and upgrades upon completion of Quests #38 and #70. More upgrades are available from the Grand Prize Rotation List where you will receive an upgrade for every two (2) Grand Prizes (i.e., 40 Houses illuminated).

Notes and Tips

• If possible, try to combo any Special awards (Show + Double Payout) together to maximize your rewards.
• I am hearing that to maximize the Grand Prize you will need to snag the Calendar Rewards where 2 upgrades are in the kitty. Check out the links for more info.
